Escape to Paradise

Lamb Island - the Jewel of Moreton Bay

Our Beautiful Island

The four Southern Moreton Bay Islands are ideal for those seeking complete isolation, whether it be for a romantic getaway, to bring the family closer together or just to escape from the pressures of everyday life. Enjoy safe swimming, boating and water sports such as kayaking, fishing or simply taking in the sights and sounds of nature. Turtles, dolphins and dugongs seem to like this quiet environment too and can often be seen in the secluded waters. There is a range of accommodation to suit every budget on the SMBIs, which are serviced from Weinam Creek Marina, Redland Bay, by passenger ferry and vehicle barge.
Get away from it all and rest in the peaceful and tranquil waters of Moreton Bay. Lamb Island was known by the Aboriginal people of Moreton Bay as Nguderoo, or paperbark trees. It is the second smallest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, is easily navigable and has a general store, recreation club and a swimming enclosure for cooling off in the bay waters. Measuring 2 kilometres by 1 kilometre, it's an easy walk around Lamb Island.
Access to Lamb Island is by ferry from Redland Bay.
